Timo Pankakoski is a Visiting Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University Center for Human Values as well as an Academy of Finland Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for European Studies, University of Helsinki, Finland. Pankakoski works mostly on political theory, history of political thought, German intellectual history, radical conservatism, conceptual history, metaphor theory, and the methodology of intellectual history. Currently, he focuses on a project on the conceptualizations of political conflict in 20th-century German political thought. His other endeavors include a methodological project on political metaphors and on how to enhance their explanatory potential in the history of political thought and intellectual history. Pankakoski holds a PhD in political science (Helsinki) and has thereafter worked in three Finnish universities and as a Junior Visiting Fellow at the Centre for the Study of the History of Political Thought, Queen Mary University of London.
