Aarthy Vaidyanathan is a third-year graduate student in the Department of Philosophy. She is interested in questions related to agency and interpersonal relationships. Aarthy graduated with a M.A. in philosophy from Brandeis University in 2016. Her thesis was about trust. Before turning to philosophy, she was an engineer and worked on locomotive mechanical drives and engine performance. In her dissertation, Vaidyanathan plans to pursue questions related to the nature and value of shared activity in friendship and the distinctive wrongs that can arise when engaging in such activity.
