Values and Public Life students earn top awards

The University Center for Human Values is pleased to celebrate the outstanding achievements of three members of the Class of 2021 Values and Public Life (VPL) certificate program.

Kelton Chastulik received the Allen Macy Dulles ’51 Award, the highest student honor for leadership and service to campus and community. The award was announced during the University’s virtual Class Day event. Read “Students honored for leadership and service at Class Day.”

Malka Himelhoch was one of 62 recipients out of 773 candidates nationwide to receive a 2020 Truman Scholarship, awarded by The Harry S. Truman Foundation for leadership, public service and academic achievement. Read the University’s full announcement.

Sophia Cai took first place in the Program in Gender and Sexuality Studies Huffman Senior Thesis Prize, awarded to a GSS certificate program student whose senior thesis shows a deep commitment to the dilemmas raised by feminism and an extraordinary empathy for the problems and struggles of women.
