The Princeton Project in Philosophy and Religion (PPPR) has been awarded a $234,000 grant from the John Templeton Foundation for the project: “Building Collaborative Research Networks Across the Islamic Scholarly Tradition and Western Philosophy.” The project will focus on developing connections across both traditions, particularly in the areas of epistemology, ethics, and philosophy of religion.
Facilitated by PPPR Directors Andrew Chignell, Laurance S. Rockefeller Professor with appointments in Religion, Philosophy and the University Center for Human Values, and Professor of Philosophy Lara Buchak, and led by Kamal Ahmed, a research collaborator in PPPR and Princeton’s Center for the Study of Religion, this two-year effort will sponsor research, reading groups, primary source translation, and workshops.
More details on the project can be found in the John Templeton Foundation announcement.
