Melissa Lane, Director of the University Center for Human Values and Class of 1943 Professor of Politics, was a guest speaker on the series In Our Time, which is broadcast on British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Radio 4. Professor Lane was one of three panelists in discussion with Melvyn Bragg, program host, for the episode “Solon the Lawgiver” which featured a discussion about Solon “the statesman and poet whose political and legal reforms transformed Athens in the 6^th century BC” and whom some view as the father of Athenian democracy.
