Jan-Werner Mueller on "post-establishment politics" at the World Economic Forum

Jan-Werner Mueller, Executive Committee Member and Founding Director of the UCHV-based Project in the History of Political Thought, participated in the World Economic Forum in Davos this past week.  Mueller debated the question whether we had entered an era of “post-establishment politics” with the prime minister of Peru and the deputy prime minister of Belgium, among others.  He also offered a special session on civic education and participated in a roundtable discussion on the state of German politics.  A special highlight, said Mueller, was the opportunity to have an exchange with the Polish prime minster, Mateusz Morawiecki, on live television; Mueller charged both Hungary and Poland with being in breach of basic European Union principles of democracy and the rule of law.
