Jan-Werner Mueller on Europe after the Ukraine invasion in the London Review of Books

June 1, 2022

Jan-Werner Mueller, Roger Williams Straus Professor of Politics, is the author of "Germany Inc.: Europe's Monsters" published in the May 26 issue of the London Review of Books. He takes a close look at European politics after Russia's invasion of Ukraine and how Putin and other populist governments influence European leaders. Professor Mueller pays particular attention to Germany’s domestic political decisions over the past two decades with its “hard-nosed pursuit of economic advantage combined with high-minded moralizing” and he suggests that “this should be the hour of structural adjustment for Germany.”
