Jan-Werner Mueller, Roger Williams Straus Professor of Politics, founding director, Project in the History of Political Thought and director, Program in Political Philosophy, will deliver the Rousseau Lectures at the University of Basel in June 2023.  Mueller will speak on “Populism as a Challenge to (Direct) Democracy and the Rule of Law.”  The Lectures are sponsored by the Swiss Association for Legal and Social Philosophy.   Mueller will also offer a masterclass on the theme of populism and democracy.
