An article by Shuk Ying Chan *21, a Graduate Prize Fellow at UCHV in the 2018-19 academic year, and Alan Patten, chair of the Department of Politics and a member of the UCHV Executive Committee, has just been published in the American Political Science Review. 

The article, “What’s Wrong With Neo-Colonialism. The Case of Unequal Trade in Cultural Goods,” argues that contemporary patterns of unequal trade in cultural goods are objectionable, and deserve to be called “neo-colonial,” insofar as they reinforce colonial-era global social hierarchies.
