The Center welcomes requests to co-sponsor conferences and workshops (including book workshops to discuss drafts of manuscripts with local and visiting colleagues) on normative themes to be held on campus and open to participation by faculty and graduate students. Typically the Center makes small awards between $500 and $2,000, depending on costs and centrality to the Center’s interest, and that do not conflict with our main events (see uchv.princeton.edu/events for workshops, conferences, and special events scheduled to date). We will consider larger requests (normally for not more than $10,000) for support of activities centrally concerned with questions of ethics and values, whether in historical or contemporary thought or practice. We expect that co-sponsored conferences will also be supported by other units of the University and will be administered in one of those units. This program does not support activities intended primarily for undergraduates.
To request conference funding, submit a brief proposal including a budget to UCHV's Assistant Director, Derek Balcom ([email protected]). If you are submitting to multiple funding sources, please indicate the amount requested from UCHV.
