Event Description

Artificial intelligence (AI) is already having a huge impact on our lives and will continue to do so in the future. While most discussions of AI’s impact are about impacts on humans, this conference aims at investigating and evaluating AI’s impacts on two classes of nonhuman beings, nonhuman animals and potentially sentient or conscious AI. The conference will explore how we can develop AI technologies in a way that protects and benefits nonhuman animals and potentially sentient AI.

Speakers: Kristin Andrews, Jonathan Birch, Leonie Bossert, Nick Bostrom (virtual), Thilo Hagendorff (virtual), Thomas Hartung, Clara Mancini, Josh Mounsey, Jeff Sebo, Henry Shevlin, Peter Singer, Masahi Takeshita, Tse Yip Fai, Michael Tye, and Walter Veit (virtual).

Organizers: Peter Singer, Tse Yip Fai, Leonie Bossert and Thilo Hagendorff
