Adriana Petryna is the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Term Professor in Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania. She works at the intersections of science and technology, public policy, and ethics. Her publications include Life Exposed: Biological Citizens after Chernobyl and When Experiments Travel: Clinical Trials and the Global Search for Human Subjects, and she co-edited Global Pharmaceuticals: Ethics, Markets, Practices and When People Come First: Critical Studies in Global Health. At Princeton she will be working on a book on abrupt climate change and its scientific, public policy, and emergency responses.
