Jane Abbottsmith, a religion major and a senior in the Values and Public Life undergraduate certificate program, was recently awarded a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. The recipients of this prestigious award have the opportunity to pursue a postgraduate degree in any subject at the University of Cambridge. Jane is one of five students at Princeton to be awarded the Gates Scholarship this year. She is currently writing her senior thesis on love of God and neighbor in Augustine’s homilies. Upon graduation, she will pursue an MPhil in Theological and Religious Studies at Cambridge, where she will investigate the ideals of beneficence in the active and the contemplative life.
