Jan-Werner Mueller to deliver 1814 Lecture in Oslo

On October 22nd Jan-Werner Mueller will deliver the second lecture in a special series on the topic of Freedom organized by the Norwegian Research Council in the run-up to the bicentennial of the Norwegian constitution in 2014.  The Norwegian constitution is the oldest single-document national constitution in Europe and the second oldest in the world.  Mueller’s lecture is entitled “Fear and Freedom: The Legacies of Mid-Twentieth-Century Liberalism."  The first lecture was delivered in Bergen by Quentin Skinner, entitled "The Genealogy of Freedom."
