Laura Chasin

Laura Chasin is founder and Chair of the Public Conversations Project (PCP), a Watertown, MA, nonprofit that assists organizations and communities in shifting stuck conflicts that have been preventing effective collaboration on important goals.

Since 1989, PCP has developed a versatile methodology for dissolving stereotypes, improving communication, generating fresh ideas, and identifying opportunities for collaboration. PCP has worked with educational, health care, religious, philanthropic, and governmental organizations grappling with divisive issues such as abortion, same-sex marriage and the mid-East conflict, as well as issues involving race and gender. PCP provides consultation, dialogue design and facilitation services, trainings and a website, www.publicconversations.org packed with free practical resources.

Prior to founding PCP, Ms. Chasin served on many non-profit boards, including the Children’s Defense Fund and Spelman College. She earned graduate degrees in Government from Harvard University and Social Work from Simmons College.
