Jennifer Miller

Jennifer Miller is the executive director of Bioethics International (BEI), and President of the World Council for Ethical Standards (WCES) which unites key healthcare stakeholders committed to the delivery of person-centered, ethically responsible and trustworthy healthcare to foster greater respect for human rights, healthcare access, and accountability and transparency across the global healthcare delivery and supply chain. A physicist by training, Miller founded BEI in 2005.
A leading expert in disaster preparedness and resource allocation ethics, Miller is an ethicist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Pediatric Mass Critical Care group, a follow up to the National Task Force on Mass Critical Care, as well as for the Association of Schools of Public Health’s ASPH-CDC Public Health Preparedness and Response Competency Development Project.
Miller has worked expansively with the Biotechnology Industry Organization, including chairing the 2010 International BIO Convention ethics panel on responsible bio-pharmaceutical research and development as well as serving as an author for BIO publications.
In 2007, Miller was appointed special consultant to the United Nations and served as a member of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Since 2007 she has remained a speaker and participant with the UN Commission on the Status of Women. In 2008 she co-directed the United Nations affiliate bioethics conference on current and emerging bioethical concerns with the ABC NGO.
Throughout her career, she has served as a curriculum developer and advisor for both private and public institutions across the global healthcare chain including for the American Medical Association, National Disaster Life Support Education Consortium, the Center for Policy and Emerging Technologies, top pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and top universities. Her expertise and interviews have been featured in both the domestic and foreign press including Fox News, CBS News, India Today and the cover of Science Magazine’s careers section.
Miller received a B.S. in Physics from Fordham University in New York, a Master’s Degree in Bioethics, and is a candidate for a Doctorate in Bioethics from Regina Apostolorum in Italy. She is proficient in English, Spanish and Italian.
